Hosted by COACH Network, Together for Communities brings together churches, community leaders and local changemakers for a time of inspiration, learning and connection.

Hear practical insights and stories of hope as we explore how to create lasting impact in our communities and live out the way of Jesus together.

Keynote Speaker

Sharon was appointed Mission Australia’s CEO in 2022. Adopting a servant-leadership style and a strong strategic focus, Sharon is committed to Mission Australia’s vision of building hope and possibility for all. 

She has extensive experience in the Christian not-for-profit sector and managing large community service organisations, particularly within the aged care and social services sectors. 

Sharon holds a Graduate Diploma from the Australian Institute of Company Directors, a Master of Business Administration, a Bachelor Degree in Health Administration, and is a Registered Nurse. She is Deputy Board Chair of James Milson Village. Sharon currently worships at Mary Immaculate Church: Diocese of Broken Bay. 

Contributors Including

Glen Powell is married to Ruth and has two sons at university (USyd and UTS). He works with Wesley Mission on community development, and is involved in their work on affordable housing, gambling reform and mental health advocacy. Glen was one of the founding organisers for the Sydney Alliance – a grassroots advocacy network of unions, faith-based, and community groups. He was once a professional musician, sings in the Glebe Community Choir and holds a PhD in leadership development as a social inclusion strategy.   

Jeni collaborates with the Mission Australia team, and local churches and faith networks including Together for Ryde, to strengthen the wellbeing and connectedness of community in the City of Ryde 

Prior to becoming a Community Chaplain, Jeni worked in the community sector for over 30 years; the last 15 of these years at Mission Australia in the areas of homelessness, youth engagement, and mental health. In 2020, Jeni was the recipient of a Westfield Local Heroes Award.Currently she is on leadership at the church she attends with her family; and is part of the Together for Ryde core facilitation team – serving the church in oneness in this city. 

Zoe Stewart is the Community Pastor at C3 Church Carlingford and Manger of Breakthrough Community Services. She has a passion for seeing the local church reaching out to the community with the love and hope of Jesus.  Zoe coordinates a variety of programs including  a COACH family mentoring program . Zoe will brings practical tip and stories from years of serving God in the community.
